During the lockdown of 2020, an onslaught of uncompromisingly direct news imagery relating to the pandemic entered our homes on a daily (hourly) basis. Sourcing images in newspapers and online news bulletins, my work became a response to the pandemic, from its depiction of scenes of front line NHS workers to studies of items that were in worryingly short supply.
